Your Community Credit Union offers our members higher savings rates, lower and fewer fees and competitive rates on loans.

As a member, you can help us maintain those competitive rates by upholding the terms of your loan agreements. One way to do that is to make sure your loan collateral (car, truck, boat, etc) is insured against physical damage. If you ever have a lapse in your insurance coverage, not only are you are at risk for sustaining a loss, Your Community Credit Union could also sustain a loss if the collateral is damaged. By preventing these losses from happening, we can keep your borrowing costs low!

To help us make sure that insurance on collateralized loans is up to date, we have partnered with CUNA Mutual Group who will provide an insurance tracking service. This service notifies us if your insurance coverage has lapsed. The service also sends you a letter reminding you to reinstate the insurance on your loan. It's that simple!

Tracking insurance coverage helps CVFCU to:
  • Keep rates lower (by reducing uninsured losses) and
  • Protect you, the credit union and the collateral on your loan


If you have received an Audit Notice of Insurance Requirement

You need to obtain an insurance policy with acceptable deductibles showing us as lien holder or loss payee. If you have this coverage in place, you need to provide evidence of such insurance by any of the following methods:
  • You or your insurance agent can fax a copy of your policy to 1-800-847-3144 or 1-847-741-7679. This option is available 24 hours a day (please allow 2 business days for processing);
  • You or your insurance agent can mail a copy of your policy to us (the lien holder) at PO Box 1660, Lynchburg, VA 24505;
  • Your insurance agent or company can call us at 1-800-366-2450 or 1-847-741-1098 24 hours a day to provide confirmation of such insurance, or
  • You may contact our insurance tracking partner online at www.cunamutual.com/verifyinsurance.
If you do not have acceptable insurance coverage, you need to purchase an acceptable policy. For information about discount insurance offered to CVFCU members, visit our Warranties & Insurance section.
