Volunteers Create the Credit Union Difference The volunteers of Central Virginia Federal Credit Union comprise the Board of Directors and the Supervisory Committee. The Board of Directors set policies and the direction of the credit union. The Supervisory Committee ensures the financial stability of the credit union through regular auditing of operational and accounting practices. This unique structure sets credit unions apart from banks - credit unions are truly run by the members for the members.
The Credit Union has over 14,000 members and over $70 million in assets because of members committed to the credit union ideal - a financial cooperative owned by members for the benefit of members. At the core of this growth has been a group of members who work on behalf of all of us. They are volunteers who serve on our Board of Directors and Supervisory Committee. Each of these volunteers understand the importance of CVFCU in our everyday lives. The mission of each of the volunteers is to make CVFCU the best credit union possible.
